Latest Greenhouse Project

Here is the latest greenhouse project that I just finished. The concrete slab is insulated so that it will help store heat as will the 40 feet of 1 foot pipe full of water and the brick wall.He will also use it to grow starts for his garden. I have built one for myself of a differant design and it has been green for 2 years unheated in the mountains of utah (7,000 plus feet alt).Mine is not near as pretty but is about the same size and I use plastic 55 gal. barrels full of water as heat storage

We have peppers! Tomatoes! Veggies! Everything is starting to produce. As you can see by the pictures, everything is doing good, including the Goji's (in the red pots.)

Bunkering down.....

Well we are bunkering down and gearing up for another night of freezing temps. Outdoor veggies have hot pots. We are hoping they weather the storm. Indoor plants and Goji's are safe and protected.

Are we having fun yet? I thought this was spring?????

4-12-07 Greenhouse Updates

Plants are thriving and growing fast. We are planting Goji (Lycium Eleagnus Barbarum) and wolfberry seeds. Also have 18" plants coming that I will put in the ground. Tomatoes are just about ready for transplanting as they have really taken off. Also have peppers and rhubarb growing. I hope to be eating fresh tomatoes and vegge's in another month or so.

They new plants (minus a few that spammie croaked off) are doing nicely. They growing like little weeds and I am hoping to get some fresh veggies come spring. :-P

It's been a good week!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to report in and give you the latest updates. It has been a good week and the greenhouse project is just about done. I got the solar water heater installed on the top of the bus and the shower, (including shower curtain,) is also in. Tonight I am hoping to give it the test and take my first shower in it.

Other than a few scrapes and a nice gash on my noggin' (wrench slid off the roof and clunked me on the head,) it wasn't too bad of an ordeal. Now lets hope she works. Keep your fingers crossed.

Well folks the greenhouse is built and Spammy has moved in and staked her claim and she is not all that eager to share. I am thinking I should put myself a lounge chair out there (if she will allow it.) Indoors it is probably in the 20's. The greenhouse is holding true at 80 degrees. Move over Spammie, at least give me the back corner!
